For the second time this month, a warrant had been issued for the arrest of Sandra Grazzini-Rucki for violating conditions of her probation.
Earlier this week, Grazzini-Rucki was ordered to provide the Dakota County Community Corrections (DCCC) with her residential address and wear a GPS monitor until DCCC was able to verify her residential address.
But Grazzini-Rucki is physically refusing to allow a GPS monitor to be attached to her leg and she will not provide DCCC with her current residential address.
A warrant was issued for Grazzini-Rucki’s arrest yesterday and a probation violation hearing has been scheduled for next Monday at the Dakota County Judicial Center in Hastings.
In July, Grazzini-Rucki was found guilty on six counts of deprivation of parental rights for her role in the disappearance of her daughters, Samantha and Gianna Rucki. The sisters ran from their home on April 19, 2013 during a custody and divorce proceeding involving their parents.
The girls’ father, David Rucki, was awarded full custody of all five of his children in November 2013, while two of his daughters remained missing.
One year ago today – November 18, 2015 – the girls were found living on a ranch in northern Minnesota by law enforcement, headed by the Lakeville Police Department.
The Rucki sisters were missing for a total of 944 days and were reunited with their father days after they were found. They continue to live with their father and other siblings at the family’s home in Lakeville.
Grazzini-Rucki’s attorney issued warning saying Grazzini-Rucki had “no intentions to comply with probation”
Last month, Grazzini-Rucki’s criminal defense attorney issued a blunt warning which said his client has “no intentions to comply with probation,” after her request was denied by a judge which would have allowed Grazzini-Rucki to serve more time in jail instead of probation.
Judge Karen Asphaug denied a request by Sandra Grazzini-Rucki to serve her full sentence in prison, which would have allowed Grazzini-Rucki to avoid being on probation for the next six years. Grazzini-Rucki made the request to execute her sentence within hours of her sentencing hearing on September 21, 2016.
Grigsby was quoted by the Star Tribune in October saying that “[Grazzini-Rucki] has no intentions to comply with probation.”
As predicted, Grazzini-Rucki refuses to comply with probation
Since being sentenced by Judge Karen Asphaug in September, Grazzini-Rucki has made repeated requests to execute her sentence by continuing to remain in jail, rather than serving probation.
Grazzini-Rucki has been back in jail since she surrendered to authorities in Washington County earlier this month after a warrant was issued for her arrest yesterday for violating her probation.
On November 2, an arrest warrant was issued for Grazzini-Rucki because she failed to “maintain contact with probation” and she failed “to notify probation within 72 hours of any change in address, employment, and phone number.”
Grazzini-Rucki is now being represented by a public defender, as Grigsby withdrew as her attorney last month.
Judge Asphaug denied Grazzini-Rucki’s request to execute her sentence last week, as she did at a hearing in October.
During the hearing, Grazzini-Rucki acted inappropriately in court.
Grazzini-Rucki smiled and giggled during the proceedings, especially after Judge Asphaug denied her request to execute her sentence. The judge also instructed Grazzini-Rucki to pay attention to the proceedings, as Grazzini-Rucki kept looking into the gallery of the courtroom at two of her supporters.
Michael Rhedin, who has been described in court documents as Grazzini-Rucki’s boyfriend, was in the courtroom accompanied by Linda Senst, who is friends with Grazzini-Rucki and her family court attorney, Michelle MacDonald.
Rucki family concerned for their safety
In an interview last month, a member of the Rucki family expressed concern for their safety based on Grazzini-Rucki’s past behavior, and also because of comments made by Grazzini-Rucki’s attorney which forewarned trouble ahead from Grazzini-Rucki.
